New Steel Rolex Submariner Watch For 2010
Written by admin on September 3, 2010 – 2:27 am -The long awaited new steel version of the new generation of Rolex Submariner watches is here. The official name is the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner Date. This is not a surprise release from the brand for 2010. However, the introduction of a standard green dial is something I didn't expect. Like clockwork, over the last few years Rolex has been updating their GMT Master II collection and then a white gold new Submariner. Last year the released a new two-tone (steel and gold) Submariner watch with a blue or a black dial. It was only logical that this year would see the release of a new all steel Submariner, ref. 116610. This is most important because the steel versions are the most popular - given their position as having the lowest cost... more

Top Watches Revealed At BaselWorld 2010
Written by admin on March 25, 2010 – 4:00 am -The following five watches were singled out by writers at AskMen.com as ones they like the best. NO.1 - HUBLOT CLASSIC FUSION The last decade saw a major rebirth of Hublot under the leadership of the charismatic Jean-Claude Biver. Circa 2004, the Big Bang was released and it hit the market like a sledgehammer. Since then, the onslaught of limited and unlimited editions has thrust the Big Bang forcefully into the collective psyche of the watch world, such that what was the invigorating and unique design of the Big Bang is oddly enough now a classic. Chalk it up to the genius of Mr. Biver at the helm of the Hublot ship, but that is how a classic is made with haste. Now, the brand strips down the look for a thinner, more elegant watch known as... more

The difference between a $500 watch and a $50,000 watch
Written by admin on January 30, 2010 – 12:02 am -Jack Forster, Forbes Magazine The difference between a $500 watch and a $50,000 one is often in the movement. The ground floor of the Roger Dubuis factory, a top-tier manufacturer specializing in artistically extroverted timepieces, comes as a shock. This is one of Geneva's temples of haute horlogerie, a place where you'd expect the loudest sound to be the nearly inaudible cricket-song of a hand file against brass. But in this gigantic room blue- and white-coated technicians tend enormous, sleek machines. The air is redolent of oil and coolant, the ceiling is strung with pipes and conduit, and, here and there, warning signs and bundled cables testify to the huge amounts of electricity being consumed. It's in a room like this that virtually... more

The Appeal of Swiss Watches
Written by admin on July 6, 2009 – 12:08 am -By Jaybe Scott The prestige Swiss brands have engraved their position as the world's number one status symbol, limited to the rich and famous. Some of the mass Swiss brands on the other hand, target a somewhat different demographic and are now the world's largest producer of watches. Many countries in the world now produce and export high quality watches. Yet, ask people on the street which country makes the best quality watches and 9 times out of 10 the response will be Switzerland. The custom of quality and detail has been upheld for over five centuries and would seriously doubt if there is any industry can make this claim in any other industry. Swiss watch making one way... more
